It almost sounds like the upper follower on the magazine won't go down to let you move the Slide lock lever down and release the slide. The mag follower pushes up on the slide lock when empty and why the slide locks back on a empty mag. Most often it is the striker hanging on the sear. Try not just swinging the take down lever but actually putting pressure on it past the 7 o'clock and holding that while you pull the slide forward and off. This will pull the sear down and let the slide come off. Sig Classic Line Armorer. Reply.

Jun 21, 2020 · The flat faces forward in the closed position. The rear end of the guide rod rests on the takedown lever (or pin). This requires the guide rod to protrude at the muzzle by about 3/16" or the difference between flat up and flat forward. If the guide rod is stuck at the muzzle the slide will stop about where your pic shows. Push down hard (you won't break it) while pulling back on the slide and see if it will move. Upon putting the slide back on the take down lever will not go back to the horizontal position. And the slide would not come off. I removed the back plate and took out the striker assembly, and striker safety and spring. The slide then could come off freely. Same when you assembly it back - lever has to be fully rotated. And obviously, the magazine has to be removed first, per the manual indication. The takedown safety level hooks around a little pin in the rear end of the FCU. This little pin is what move the sear up/down. Somehow the takedown level must have lost its grip to the little pin.
