There's so-so support from mythic paths / powers but itemization is so far somewhat worse for them than it was in Kingmaker (fewer armor bracers and stat hats). The Sohei archetype looks like it will be incredibly good - flurry with martial weapons *and* an animal companion.Play however you want to play mate. Best subclass is one you have most fun with. Ranger is a strong class, cant go wrong with it. Animal companion is a good tool to have. If you dont have many frontliners it can act as one. I believe 3 paladin levels is usually the optimum point to multi-class, but 4 can still work, and you get very little for being a pure paladin (the capstone level 20 ability may be the worst in fact, uppding their DR 5/evil to 10/evil if I remember right.....which means it's DR vs anything that isn't evil ...Bully Dog or Wolf are overall the best pets to me becase of high STR + Trip on all attacks (and they gain more attacks/round as they level up to 4 when hasted at max level).
